Hector, better known as KUMBIA, is an established and successful entertainer, DJ, & Radio Personality. With over 10 years experience, he has been rocking some of Arizona’s hottest Clubs, Events and Radio Stations.

Originally raised in Douglas, AZ his love of music took him from being a member of his middle school and high school marching band, to starting off his radio career as a high school senior when he co-hosted the Caliente Mix on KKRK 95.3fm. This great experience lasted a few months but since then he realized that one day he would be in radio again. After moving to Phoenix, AZ in 2000 KUMBIA began to take interest in DJing and music/audio production, which led him to join a group of DJs,(Beat Lab Productions), in 2004 and promote night clubs during this time. They were recognized by the Phoenix New Times for Best Latin Night Club 4 Years in a row. In 2007 he returned to radio and began to hit the Phoenix Airwaves on 95.1fm Latino Vibe! And Hot 97.5/103.9 in 2012. He was a Stylos Awards Nominee for Best On Air Personality. In 2014 he made the bold move to Albuquerque to continue his radio career!

Hired by Univision Radio to become the official afternoon drive host on top 40/Rythmic Station Kiss 97.3fm as well as On Air Talent on Yo 95.1 in San Antonio & Hot 105.7 in San Jose, CA. Soon after he caught the eye of KAGM Wild 106.7 and became the Music Director & Morning Show Host.  After a successful run he decided to make his way back Home to Phoenix and become On Air Talent on Power 98.3/96.1FM and sister Station Hot 97.5/103.9.

KUMBIA specializes in various formats of music from Top 40, Hip Hop, Latin, House/Electro, Mash ups, Dance, and much more. This diversity and years of experience give him the ability to transform any occasion into an amazing experience. 

Throughout KUMBIA’s Career he has been able to work with various companies as a brand ambassador and host for their events. Some of these Brands include Coors Light, Mikes Hard Lemonade, Ciroc, Oreos, Metro PCS, Whataburger, Club Downtown, Club Rain, Clamato, Dr Pepper, and more.
